Carcell Welcomes Prof. Jianzhu Chen and Dr. Hagop Youssoufian as New Advisors

A warm welcome to two new advisors to Carcell Biopharma! Prof. Jianzhu Chen of MIT joins Carcell's Scientific Advisory Board, and Dr. Hagop Youssoufian is now Carcell's Clinical Advisor.



-------------- Dr. Jianzhu Chen is a Professor of Biology at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Department of Biology. Dr. Chen received a B.S. degree from Wuhan University in China and a Ph.D. degree from Stanford University. He was a postdoctoral fellow and then an instructor at Harvard Medical School before he joined the faculty at MIT. Dr. Chen’s research seeks a fundamental understanding of the immune system as well as its translation in disease interventions, including cancer, infectious diseases, and metabolic diseases. ------------- Dr. Hagop Youssoufian is a physician-scientist with more than 25 years of experience in drug development working with seed-stage ventures to multi-national biotech and pharmaceutical corporations. After a successful academic career as a clinician, teacher and NIH-funded investigator, he held increasingly senior roles in clinical and translational science at Bristol-Myers Squibb (Head of Experimental Medicine), Sanofi Aventis (Distinguished Scientist), ImClone (CMO), Ziopharm Oncology (President of R&D and CMO), Progenics (EVP of R&D), and BIND (CMO). He supported or led the development and approval of a number of medicines including Sprycel, Taxotere, Erbitux, Cyramza, Lartruvo, Azedra and Copiktra. He is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, the recipient of national and international awards, and an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Brown University. He received a B.S. in biology from Boston College and M.Sc./M.D. from University of Massachusetts Medical School, followed by fellowships at Johns Hopkins, Harvard and MIT.
